How do I choose my own temporary email address?
Upgrade to Premium, then click Custom address above the inbox and type the name you want before the @. Choose a domain, confirm, and the address is live and saved to your account.
A few rules of thumb make custom names more useful:
- Name it after the site. An address built from the store's name tells you exactly who you gave it to. If spam arrives later, you know who shared it.
- Name it after the purpose. Travel, deals, newsletters or testing are easy to remember and easy to sort.
- Keep your real name out of it when privacy is the goal. A custom address only stays private if it does not point back to you.
- Try a variation if the name you want is already taken on that domain, or pick another domain.
You can hold up to 25 inboxes at once, so there is room for a separate address for each part of your online life: one for shopping, one for travel, one for the forum you only visit on weekends.
Because every address lives in your account rather than a single browser, you can sign in on another device and find them all there.

Why is a custom name better than a random address?
A custom name is easier to remember, easier to type and easier to trace when something goes wrong. A random string is fine for a quick code, but it gets awkward once you use an address more than once.
Here is where a name you chose pays off:
- At the counter. Giving an email at a shop or event is simpler when you can say it out loud without spelling out a jumble of letters.
- On your phone. Typing a short, familiar name beats copying and pasting between apps.
- Across many sign-ups. When each site gets its own named address, your inboxes stay organized and you can drop one without touching the others.
- When tracing leaks. A unique name per site shows exactly which company let your address slip.
Premium domains add another layer of choice. If one site is picky about a particular domain, you can try an address on another. No temporary email service can promise that every site will accept it, but more options give you more room to work with.
How much does custom temp mail cost?
Premium costs $7 a month or $69 a year. The yearly plan saves about 18%, which works out to roughly two months free.
A few details worth knowing before you buy:
- 14-day money-back guarantee. If Premium is not right for you, ask for a refund within 14 days of your first payment. The refund policy has the details.
- Cancel anytime. Cancel from Account > Billing. You keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for.
- Checkout by Stripe. Your payment is processed by Stripe.
- One plan, everything included. Custom addresses, premium domains, 30-day retention, forwarding and API access all come with the same subscription.
The free plan stays available too. If you only need a random address for a few minutes, the inbox at the top of this page works without an account. When you want names you choose and mail that sticks around, compare both plans side by side on the pricing page.
